During the heart of the racing schedule each season, Douglas County Dirtrack employs people for several volunteer and paid positions. Many of the positions are part-time and seasonal. They include positions within concessions, grounds crew/clean up, race-day operations, security, ticket sales, and more. Candidates must be available to work variable and flexible hours.

TICKET AGENT
The essential and primary duty of a ticket agent is the selling of various admission tickets into the race facility for entry. Position entails varying roles on DCDT race days; including, but not limited to:
Providing a prompt, efficient, and courteous customer experience
Responding and resolving customer’s requests and concerns
Cash Handling Skills
Basic computer skills
Excellent customer service skills, communication skills, and a happy attitude are essential.
Must be able to perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching.
Must be 18 years of age and able to work all major events at DCDT, this includes the special event nights.
ENTRY ATTENDANT
The essential and primary duty of an entry attendant is the validation of all tickets and armbands as fans enter the speedway. Position entails varying roles on DCDT race days; including, but not limited to:
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with DCDT’s patrons and staff while remaining attentive and positive. Outgoing and strong communications skills.
Ability to maintain a firm but positive attitude under pressure situations and large crowds. This includes enforcing all DCDT’s policies.
Ability to work outdoors and subject to weather conditions while standing.
Ability to check cooler and bags according to Eldora policies and procedures.
Must be 18 years of age and able to work all major events at Eldora Speedway, this includes the Thursday night events.
PIT ENTRANCE ATTENDANT
This primary responsibility is to check and validate credentials for all patrons, drivers, teams, haulers, and vehicles entering the restricted pit area. Position entails varying roles on DCDT race days; including, but not limited to:
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with DCDT’s patrons and staff while remaining attentive and positive. Outgoing and strong communications skills.
Ability to maintain a firm but positive attitude under pressure situations and large crowds. This includes enforcing all DCDT’s policies.
Ability to work outdoors and subject to weather conditions while standing, walking and climbing.
Must be able to work all major events at Douglas County Dirtrack, this includes the special event nights.
PIT STEWARD
As a Pit Steward, the successful candidate(s) will work during DCDT race events in the Pit Area and become a member of an existing team. The position entails varying roles on DCDT race days; including, but not limited to: parking race haulers, communicating with race teams, directing pit and pedestrian traffic as needed, assisting with track preparation if needed.USHER/CUSTOMER SERVICE
The primary responsibility of this position is to help patrons locate their seats and help enforce awareness of DCDT policies, such as no smoking, no alcohol sections, no standing areas, etc. Position entails varying requirements on DCDT race days; including, but not limited to:
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with DCDT patrons and staff while remaining attentive and positive. Outgoing and strong communications skills.
Monitoring of the crowds and facility for any problems and handling these problems with a courtesy, positive, pro-active approach.
Ability to work outdoors and subject to weather conditions while standing, walking and climbing.
Must be able to work all major events, this includes the special event nights.
CONCESSIONS
Concessions area work for select Eldora race events could include, but not be limited to, sandwich wrappers, grill cooks, fry cooks and cashiers. Successful candidates should have good listening and observation skills, with the ability to react quickly and efficiently during periods of high food and drink demand. Candidate must be available to work long hours and weekends. This is a fast-paced environment. Cashiers must be able to make change quickly and accurately. Morning breakfast shifts, afternoon shifts and night shifts available. Cleaning shifts available between races.
VIDEO & PHOTO PRODUCTION TEAM
Multiple positions available on the video productions crew including photographer, and video content creator. All positions require the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. These positions are part-time and primarily limited to event nights only. A knowledge of the racing environment is helpful, but not required.
GROUNDS CREW
A knowledge of the racing environment is helpful, but not required. The successful candidate(s) must be able to work in unpredictable climates, with irregular hours and may be required to operate equipment such as mowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, etc. We are seeking a person with pride in their work and a willingness to tackle what it takes to get the job done. This is a broad-ranged position with varied hours and entails multiple roles in keeping professionally DCDT appearing and clean. These roles include, but are not limited to:
mowing, trimming, landscaping, weed spraying, general painting, general maintenance, pre and post-race clean-up, cleaning of equipment and workspaces.
